Dorolyn Academy of Music

Dr. Dorothy L.  Bounds...  is the Founder and President of the Academy.  A dynamic and spirited leader, she is a composer, author, educator, choral conductor, and minister of music who brings an excess of 50 years of experience to the forefront.  Bounds has earned degrees and outstanding honors from McKinley Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi and has been profiled by ABC 7 Chicago and Harry Porterfield as "someone you should know". 

Dorolyn Academy of Music...is a charitible 501 (c) 3 community based performing arts school, committed to the development, enhancement, exposure and promotion of long-term music training for the underserved...especially children and youth.  Our vision is to prepare and provide a future generation of performers and educators.  From its inception in 1982, Dr. Bounds' vision was to establish a one-of-a-kind music institution with professional instructors who would capture and catapult the curiosity of children and youth who chose to explore the world of music.
